Spark - AirBnB for Parking

My Role

I worked closely with the founder Matty Hogan, a Boston College alumn, to help develop the app, built with Swift, SwiftUI, and Objective-C. We worked with a small team of us, a web developer, five salespeople, and a Boston College professor to advance the app and market it to the public. With Matty and I being the core software developers, we met frequently to discuss new features and how to improve the app. We held weekly meetings with the sales team to coordinate strategy and to share leads.

At Spark, I learned how to build a product from the ground up, work on a small startup team, market to investors and customers, conduct sales calls, and effectively hold meetings and communicate ideas. My software engineering skills were put to the test and significantly improved throughout my time at Spark, as I had to navigate difficult problems and solve them with the help of only Matty.

While the app garnered significant interest, we decided to put the project on hold, as the timing was not right. Matty and I will pick the app back up sometime in the near future.
